BEGINNERS’ SUNDAY SCHOOL
All children of nursery school age and P1 will be made welcome at Beginners’ Sunday School.
Every Sunday Morning 10:30-11:15am, running from the first Sunday in September to the third Sunday of June.
- Our progamme is specifically designed by Scripture Union for young children of all abilities. Every Sunday the child have an action packed time which they really enjoy. Learning stories from the Bible, singing songs, doing craft and much much more.
- We have a committed and well trained group of volunteers as teachers. Please speak to any one of them, or our leader in charge, Ms Selina Chambers if you would like more information. Alternatively, send us an email and we will contact you.
- Your child can start Beginners’ Sunday School any Sunday throughout the year, we will be delighted to welcome them. We will ask you to complete a registration form on the first Sunday they attend. If you would like to sit and observe the programme you are very welcome to do that.
JUNIOR SUNDAY SCHOOL
Junior Sunday School is for children who are in P2, P3 or P4 in primary school.
Children are divided into classes according to their age and we aim to put children who know each other in the same class to make them feel more at ease.
The classes vary in size according to numbers of children but on average each class has 5 – 6 children in it.
Children only need to bring a bible to Sunday School. Any child who has not been to Sunday School before will be given a bible when they join. All other equipment – colouring pencils workbooks etc will be provided in Sunday School.
We follow a 3-year programme.
*We think about what God is like and each week the children learn a different word to describe him.
*We look at the life of Jesus and the children will hear about many of the wonderful miracles which he performed.
*We will also talk about the Holy Spirit and explain who he is.
Each week the children will be asked to memorise either a short bible verse (which will already have been taught in Sunday School), or the answer to a question which is connected to the story that day.
A take home sheet is provided each week with some ideas for parents to use at home to discuss what your children have been learning in Sunday School. This is a great chance for you to show an interest in what your children have already learned about in Sunday School and an opportunity for you to talk about the bible with them.
We meet in the minor hall (downstairs) each Sunday from 10:45 – 11:15
and parents are asked to collect their children from the door of the hall unless other arrangements have been made with the class teacher.
SPECIAL EVENTS
*We have two parties each year one at Christmas and another one in the summer just before we finish for the summer holidays.
*In June we have two special church services which are led by the children.
If you haven’t brought your children along to Sunday School before why not try it this year? We would love to see them and will make them feel very welcome.
